New Nissan Cars: New Mobility Concept Unveiled at the 2010 SEMA Show

Automotto wrote a great article about an electric zero emission mobility concept vehicle from Nissan on display at this year’s SEMA show in Las Vegas.  The small size enables really tight maneuverability and the ability to park almost anywhere.  This two-seater offers drivers an innovative zip and go for the modern lifestyle.

This New Mobility Concept car can be used as a commuter car, but the targeted audience for this car are seniors and bachelors driving short distances.

Nissan has also proposed a concept called EV Car Sharing. The car serves as a commuter vehicle during the morning and evening and as a corporate vehicle by day for the employee needing to run errands within the city limits. Propelled by a 20 hp electric motor with 57 feet of torque, this vehicle will have a range of 100 miles and a top speed of about 75 miles.

The truth is that in the early 1900′s the electric car was a common site on the American road. Doctors needed a car that they could get in and go.  – Detroit Electric

In the early 20th century, following the lead of electric motors designed for locomotives and omnibuses, Detroit’s Anderson Carriage Company made an electric car called the Detroit Electric.  This car became one of the most popular and long running versions sold in the US.
